I love the holidays for the food and friends that come together around this time. It’s so wonderful to see how creative people get with their recipes and all their personal touches on holiday staples. It’s really my favorite part. You can learn a lot about a person from the food that they make, no matter the recipe and how closely they follow it!
I don’t cook too much around the holidays. I prefer to have as much of the kitchen as possible when I do cook which is something quite impossible when you have 3-4 people rotating around the oven. So I stick to starters and sides.
For Thanksgiving I had planned on making bacon wrapped stuffed Jalapenos! But once I got to the grocery store the wheels started turning and my time in Italy really began to make it’s influences known! The end result: salami wrapped jalapenos, filled with cream cheese, Parmesan, Fontina, basil, chives, and roasted garlic - all baked of course! I’m already so excited to make and eat these!
Pictures will follow after Thursday.
